UPCOMING PRINTMAKING SHOWS.

"Andrew Jeffrey Wright - Art Jokes! at Fluxus Friday"

first of all, thank you Jason Kachadourian! for planning the great Fluxus Friday (also his senior thesis show) that happened this past weekend! totally sweet bands, performance artists, and installation'ers included in the show were: Black Pus (Brian Chippendale), Cinders Gallery, Lucky Dragons, Mudboy, Andrew Jeffrey Wright (Art Jokes), Mark Price, the list goes on. it was a really fantastic show with ALSO a well-selected group of work by student sculpture, print, and other media majors.

now check out these upcoming printmaking shows:

James and Chris' Senior Show!

The OPENING IS TOMORROW! Tuesday! April 8th! Be there or be SQUARE!

Tuesday, April 8, 2008
Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: VA building, room 1019A

These two printmaking majors (James is interdisciplinary with sculpture) meld well together both thematically and visually, which makes their show very worth-while to see. While James Carroll's deep-process work tends to focus on making the natural seem more industrious (and vice versa), Chris Tyrrell's melodic prints definitely create an aura in which the sculptural image becomes eerily natural.

JUNIOR PRINTMAKING SHOW!

This group of Rag-Tag-Hard-Workin'-Do-It-Yerself Junior Year Print Rebels are making a big splash by combining forces, and artwork, to give you, the viewer a dive into the various medias that we, the printmakers, lovingly adore. (longest sentence, I apologize) - but it's true! You come to this show, and you'll see what these kids are made of. They even silkscreened CMYK / Letterpress postcards just so you can keep a lil' work of your own. They LOVE YOU!

The group?: Shannon Barber, Thomas Berlangero, Kelwin Coleman, Ryan Duff, Leta Grey, James Jordan, Michael Kondel, Joseph Montepagani, Gillian Riley, Pilar Rodriguez, Marita Slon, Henry Tolman, Michelle Tommaso, and Anthony Vogt.

This is the future of printmaking. What you will see? Etching, Silkscreen, Collage, Papermaking, Lithography, Woodcut, the list goes on forever.

Plus there will be food??? Yum! Food&Art!
